In Lena s new film  Sharp Stick , which talks about sex and comedy side by side, is said to be a story from Lena s life. Sarah Jo, a protagonist, on the premier of Lena s film shared that she went through hysterectomy at a young age of 17. Lena also added that in 2018 she also had to go through the similar surgery and her new film kind of depicts how all of this happened to her and how she got it treated.

 Lena revealed that the characters she plays are similar to who she is in real life. Lena always felt it hard to balance her work and personal life which she thinks was a burden for her to carry on her shoulders. She added that audiences do not think logically and they also tend to relate to you with the characters you play and ask stupid questions.

While talking to Rolling Stone just before her premier Lena shared that she has made her comeback after 12 years as she secretly directed the movie  Sharp stick. She also added that she has got married to musician Luis Felber recently and is now living in London. She continued saying how she has faced criticism and backlash for making the movie secretly.

She shared that after doing  Girls  she took a break for seven long years and she lived her life to the fullest. She did not shoot, edit, write or promote anything and that was the life she wanted for some time. She spent that time reconnecting and working on herself. She did not sit idle as well as she directed a few things for TV and finally after a long break when she decided to make something covid happened.

Sharp Stick  highlights the issues she faced when she was diagnosed with endometriosis and hysterectomy. She thought that she became a superwoman or superhero because undergoing surgery was not an easy task.
