Here’s a sad news to share with our fans. One of my beloved colleagues, Dr. Max Gomez, died from a long weekend ailment. He was a chief medical correspondent at CBS New York, a caring and gracious friend, and a successful author who assisted most of the newsroom when they required good advice.

Dave Carlin of CBS New York looked back on his extraordinary life. There was no need to be formal with him. Everybody knew him as Dr. Max. His whole life was full of problem-solving and caring, offered on the television almost nightly for a couple of decades with intense love and grace.

Gomez had a big heart like the Tri-State Area, where he was a trusted and steady source for life-saving advice and no-nonsense medical news. Be it was streaming on CBS New York or networks and other stations or a trio of books on science and health he co-authored, he turned it into a mission to never give up the huge trust placed in him.

His relentless and intelligent curiosity was combined with his authentic and relaxed manner during his award-winning and exceptional career. Dr. Max assisted in educating and reducing the public’s anxiety all through 9/11 and at the time of the pandemic period.

He stated on air at that time, ‘A way to revive the whole economy is an intense affordable testing.’ Dr. Max had led through an example, honestly sharing notions with the public regarding health hindrances, including battles with joint issues, neck surgery, and stubborn bacteria.
