Sting’s Presentation During His AEW Run

Throughout his career Sting has graced wrestling promotions such as WCW, TNA and WWE. Currently he is teaming up with Darby Allin in All Elite Wrestling (AEW).

During an episode of The Wrestling Outlaws podcast Vince Russo voiced his frustration regarding Sting's appearances in interviews. He questioned why there haven't been any interviews featuring Sting discussing AEW while Tony Khan has made appearances. Russo couldn't. Wonder why SteveBorden (Sting) hasn't had the opportunity.

It's worth mentioning that Sting will be addressing AEW fans during this week's episode of Dynamite. Having started his wrestling journey back in 1985 he continues to create moments, inside the ring. The AEW fans have been expressing their admiration for The Icons' tenure with the promotion. They really hope that he continues to entertain them for a time. That's why there is some concern among viewers regarding The Icons appearance, on the October 18 2023 episode of Dynamite, where the legendary WWE Hall of Famer will be delivering a message to the audience.

There has been a lot of speculation about the possibility that this speech might be Sting's retirement announcement. With Darby Allin taking a break to train for Mount Everest it seems like we could be witnessing the end of The Icons career on this week's episode of Dynamite. It will definitely be intriguing to see what lies ahead for Stinger.

AEW has been fortunate to have Sting for as long as it has. He was already 60 years old when AEW started. He had also retired once before in 2015.

However during his address to the fans in Texas on the Oct. 18 episode of AEW Dynamite Sting himself mentioned that there was something about his retirement that never quite sat right with him. He emphasized that when it comes to him one thing is certain. Nothing is certain.

This time feels different though. After reflecting on his days traveling with wrestlers during his WCW era, Sting expressed gratitude towards the generation and specifically thanked Ric Flair for playing a pivotal role in putting him on the map.

It seemed like he was building up towards an announcement, about retirement and indeed that's where it ended up. Sting has revealed that he will have his wrestling match at Revolution 2024 marking the end of his time with AEW which started back in Revolution 2021.

After the break we see a vignette featuring Swerve Strickland and Prince Nana. When we return inside the arena Tony Schiavone introduces his guest none other than "The Icon" Sting.

Sting enters the ring. Starts discussing his journey. He mentions how he's not ready to utter the word "retirement". He shares stories from his career, including how Ric Flair played a role in putting him on the map at Clash of Champions.

He also talks about his retirement back in 2015. Emphasizes that nothing is set in stone when it comes to Sting. He brings up his match in AEW at Revolution 2022.

Finally he announces that his last match will take place at AEW Revolution 2024. He claims that one thing that can be certain is Sting's retirement, at AEW Revolution 2024. AEW hasn't officially announced the date for Revolution 2024.. It's possible that it might change considering the company's addition of more pay per view events this year. However traditionally the event has taken place in the quarter of the year in late February back in 2020 and then early March every subsequent year.

If this pattern holds true for 2024 fans can expect to enjoy Sting's presence for more than five months. So make sure to cherish every moment during that time.
