The franchise's first movie in over 20 years is The Exorcist: Believer. First of a brand-new trilogy, Believer stars Leslie Odom Jr., Ann Dowd, and Ellen Burstyn reprising her role as Chris MacNeil for the first time since the 1973 original. It is helmed by David Gordon Green, well known for his work on Halloween, and is made by Blumhouse.

Storyline of The Exorcist: Believer movie!

Two teenage girls who go missing and are later found displaying alarming behaviours consistent with possession are the subject of The Exorcist: Believer. Since Chris MacNeil's daughter was possessed in the past and she has expertise with exorcisms, their parents ultimately turn to her for assistance.

Beginning on Friday, October 6, The Exorcist: Believer will only be shown in cinemas. The release date of The Exorcist: The Last Airbender was originally set for Friday, October 13, but was moved ahead in light of the release of Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour.

Leslie Odom Jr., Ann Dowd, Jennifer Nettles, Norbert Leo Butz, Lidya Jewett, Olivia Marcum, and Ellen Burstyn, who played the same part in the 1973 original Exorcist movie, all appear in the most recent Exorcist film.

New trilogy!

Following the release of his three Halloween prequels, David Gordon Green has a new trilogy in the works for The Exorcist series. The Exorcist: Deceiver, the following instalment, is scheduled to debut in 2025.
