King T'Challa's sister Shuri succeeds him as the Black Panther after his passing.  At that point, Killomonger returns to the Ancestral Plane to impart to Shuri a lesson he had already learned the hard way about getting even. Even though he had a reduced role in this film, Chadwick Boseman's tragic death gave moviegoers and critics a feeling of comfort to see Jordan return to the big screen in Black Panther 2.
