David Muir is known for his reserved nature when sharing glimpses of his personal life outside his ABC's World News Tonight anchor role. However, on the rare occasions when he does offer a glimpse, it is often accompanied by his beloved German Shorthaired Pointer, Axel.
Engaging in a period of leisure
Axel is a constant companion to David, whether at his New York City residence or retreat upstate. This past weekend was no exception, as David and Axel enjoyed some relaxation upstate while attending colleague Robin Roberts' wedding to Amber Laign.
David, a devoted dog owner, took to Instagram to share a breathtaking photo of Axel enjoying the serene outdoors of David's lakeside home in Syracuse. The image captures Axel's sleek and attentive demeanour as he takes in the towering pine trees and the sunlight filtering through them.
Splendid day for a stroll
The individual who loves dogs composed in his caption, "Always on the hunt," accompanied by the hashtag for GSP, which stands for German Shorthaired Pointer, and "upstate." The remarks section beneath the post was rapidly inundated with compliments from his fellow celebrities and admirers alike.
Relationship with parenting
According to records filed with the Onondaga County Clerk's office in 2019, the veteran broadcast journalist acquired a residence on Skaneateles Lake upstate for a staggering $7 million. The property, constructed in 1890, spans 4,300 square feet and features six bedrooms, two kitchens, three bathrooms, and a magnificent fireplace, providing ample space for him and his companion, Axel.
David, who hails from Syracuse and was raised in Onondaga Hills, was born to Ronald Muir and Pat Mills, who separated early but maintained an amicable co-parenting relationship. Additionally, he has an elder sister, Rebecca Muir, who operates a farm in Borodino, New York, and two younger half-siblings from his father's subsequent marriage.
