Chloë Grace Moretz wasted no time in diving into her acting career. At the age of 13 she landed the role of Hit Girl, in "Kick Ass". Soon after starred in Martin Scorsese's "Hugo " solidifying herself as one of the most accomplished child actors of her time. She continued to take on roles, including a sequel to "Kick Ass" and the lead role in Kimberley Peirce’s remake of "Carrie." However she now feels it's time to take things at a pace.

In an interview with NME, where she discussed her Prime Video series "The Peripheral " Moretz shared her perspective on transitioning from a child star and how it has influenced her approach to selecting roles.

Seizing Opportunity

As an actor it was about seizing every opportunity that came my way, " Moretz explained. ". As I've grown older I've come to realize that I value quality over quant. "Moretz, who recently discussed how the demands of the Hollywood spotlight made her withdraw from activities, is now content with taking on acting roles at her preferred speed.

"What I find enjoyable about this job is that it should evolve as you grow, " she expressed. "I've read a lot of scripts. Had meetings this year but I haven't come across a project that resonated with me. For the time in years excluding the period I made a conscious decision not to work. It was quite daunting. Brought up insecurities within myself but it's crucial for me to take a step back and have faith in the efforts I've put in. Now I can finally enjoy the fruits of my labor. It's all about trusting myself during what I call my 'screw it' phase!"

Despite being more discerning than before, the actress has a couple of film projects on her plate. She will be starring alongside Joseph Gordon Levitt in the thrilling movie "White Night" and is still involved in the awaited reimagining of "Bonnie and Clyde" titled "Love Is a Gun."

Chloë Grace Moretz aspires to be recognized not as a child star.
The Hollywood industry recognized the talent of the 25 year old actress through her performances, in movies like "500 Days of Summer " "Carrie," and others. In an interview the star of "Kick Ass" shared her perspective on being a child actor emphasizing the importance of seizing opportunities and working diligently while they are available.

"As I got older I realized that my desire was to take a step. I would rather not make any movies in a year if it means not having a connection to them. That's what I did this year. 2016 was like a trial period for me to figure that out " Moretz explained.

The actress from "The Peripheral" added, "What's interesting about this profession is that it should evolve alongside your growth."
