Including a tribute to Diddy added to the event's overall atmosphere, which felt like a celebration of hip-hop, albeit not solely focused on Taylor Swift. The performances were seamlessly transitioned, with Doug E. Fresh followed by Nicki Minaj and a brief interlude before Lil Wayne's rendition of "A Milli." 

LL Cool J's appearance was preceded by a brief introduction to excite his arrival, and his performance of "Mama Said Knock You Out" was a highlight of the night. DMC's performance of his old songs was particularly impressive, surpassing LL Cool J's, which is understandable given time.
