Despite having a reputation for being a bit difficult to work with, Shannen Doherty managed to build a career that started when she was a child and continued through various challenges in her adulthood. She was born in Memphis, Tennessee. Made her appearance on screen at the age of 10 in the family drama series called Father Murphy (NBC, 1981 83) which was produced by Michael Landon. This opportunity eventually led to her being cast as Jenny Wilder in one season of Little House on the Prairie (NBC, 1974 83). She even reprised this role in some television films.
She also made guest appearances on TV shows like Magnum P.I. (CBS, 1980 88) and Highway to Heaven (NBC, 1984 89). 

She was chosen to be one of the actors, in the TV show called Our House (NBC, 1986 88) where she played the role of Wilford Brimley's granddaughter. Following the end of the show she starred alongside Winona Ryder and Christian Slater in the teenage movie Heathers (1988). She made her return to television series by portraying Prue Halliwell, one of three witch sisters along with Holly Marie Combs and Alyssa Milano in Charmed (The WB, 1998 2006).
After her departure from that show she took on the role of a host on the prank show Scare Tactics (SyFy, 2003 13). Had her own reality show called Breaking Up with Shannen Doherty (Oxygen, 2006). After that she started to revisit her roles by making guest appearances as Brenda Walsh in the follow up series 90210 (The CW, 2008 13). Additionally she teamed up with Combs for a travel program called Off the Map With Shannen and Holly (Great American Country, 2015). In 2015 she began undergoing cancer treatments.
