Thirty seven year old Troian Avery Bellisario is an American actress who starred in the teen mystery drama Tv show series Pretty Little Liars and is well known for her role as Spencer Hastings  in the series that aired from 2010 to 2017 for which she received immense appreciation, recognition, multiple awards and nominations.

At the age of three Bellisario started acting. Her very first project as a beginner was a 1988 film Last Rites which was directed, written and produced by her own dad Donald P. Bellisario. The same year she starred alongside the twins Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen in their movie Billboard Dad. 2006 was the year she started working independently and was flooded with numerous new exciting roles rather than smaller ones. She starred in many short films, a few of them include Unspoken, Archer House and Intersect.

Bellisario’s career skyrocketed when she landed the role of Spencer Hastings in Pretty Little Liars. She had an entire fan following that loved her character and also her acting skills. Troian was overwhelmed with the love she got online and in person from fans to fellow co-stars and colleagues who are in the same industry. Hence over time, as the show aired different seasons, Troian became a rising Hollywood star. In 2011, she announced that she is writing and creating her own film which successfully was filmed and released the next year in 2012. Soon she and her other Pretty Little Liars castmates got a new project to work on. They were offered a short film called  Immediately Afterlife which was a story of two cult members who are the only survivors of their cult suicide mission. In 2015, she got her lead role in the American remake of the French Canadian film, The Martyr’s.

In 2020, Bellisario played the lead role of a character called Claire in the CBS political drama Ways And Means. She starred alongside Patrick Dempsey, the storyline focused on a secret alliance between a disillusioned career politician and an impractical person who serves for the American system. Unfortunately, just after the pilot episode, the show failed in getting picked up by any streaming service platform or television channel. Back in 2022, she starred in the comedy Doula alongside actor and writer Arron Shiver and Will Greenberg. The film was produced by Chris Pine and directed by Cheryl Nichols.

In 2014 Bellisario came forward and openly discussed how important talking about mental health awareness is. She disclosed in an interview that she struggled with an eating disorder and depression throughout her highschool years and felt ashamed to ask help. This contributed to suicidal thoughts and self harm eventually. "I was the youngest daughter, the perfect little girl. My school was a very intense college prep school. So it was about wanting to please my father and mother and wanting to be perfect to everybody.” said Bellisario.
