Zendaya’s Roots
Zendaya Maree Stoermer Coleman was born on September 1st, 1996, in California. She was the only child of Claire Maria Stoermer and Kazembe Ajamu.
Although, her stage name is Zendaya, her full name holds great heritage and meaning as she said in US Weekly in 2016, I have my African first name, I have a middle name that is [my mom's] middle name, which is French, but we did it African spelling, so it's literally me in a name. And then you have Stoermer, and then you have Coleman. I literally have, like, a timeline in history in my name.
Early Career
Zendaya was a Disney darling of her time. The actress got a chance to start her career on a team sitcom, Shake It Up, in 2010. She was 14 years old at that time. The show continues for three years. Shake It Up not only opened doors for acting but also started Zendaya’s music career. Before her journey on the show ended, she got another chance in 2014 to act in K.C. Undercover until she was 21 years old.
However, the world gets to see a more mature and serious side of the actress as she involved herself in HBO's gritty drama, Euphoria. Zendaya portrays the central character of Rue Bennett in the show. She also narrates the series while acting as a 17-year-old girl struggling with drug addiction. The second season of this mega-hit arrived in February 2022, and it has been watched and liked by many since it debuted.
Entry to Hollywood
The talent of Zendaya took her from a small screen to a silver screen. At the age of 26, she made her featured breakthrough as she entered the Marvel Cinematic Universal with the role of Michelle in Spiderman: Homecoming. On set, she met with her now-boyfriend and Co-star Tom Holland.
The actress also dabbled in the world of drama and science fiction as in 2017 she played opposite Zac Efron in the box office hit, The Greatest Showman. In 2021, she also played in the science fiction movie Dune: Part 1.

In 2020 the actress speaks about fashion, Another thing that I feel helped me create an avenue and a lane of my own, that was outside of Disney Channel, was fashion. As a style icon, she also said, So that kind of became my thing, to like, get out of people seeing me in a certain way.
