Blink-182 was formed in Poway, California back in 1992. It is an American rock band that includes bassist/vocalist Mark Hoppus, guitarist/vocalist Tom DeLonge, and drummer Travis Barker as their current most successful lineup.  During their initial years when they started out their careers as a beginner musical band, Blink-182 used to record and tour on their own until they signed a record label with MCA Records.  Their biggest albums, Enema of the State 1999 and Take Off Your Pants and Jacket 2001, achieved not only national but also international appreciation and success. Songs like "All the Small Things", "Dammit", "I Miss You", and "What's My Age Again?" became hit singles and MTV staples.

After 2003, the band shifted their musical style for a bit. The current lineup however wants the same from the start. Hoppus is the only member throughout the band’s history to never leave. Others including DeLonge, who left the group twice and their founding drummer Scott Raynor, who has previously recorded and toured with the band, had to leave in 1998. 1998 onwards, Barker replaced him. From 2015 to 2022, the band introduced Alkaline Trio singer/guitarist Matt Skiba, with whom they recorded two albums, California 2016 and Nine 2019. Due to their band’s immense success even after band members left, they are still continuing to make music. Their ninth album, One More Time..., is set to be released on October 20, 2023. Blink-182 has not only been introduced to the newer younger generation as its audience but also initiated the pop-punk's second mainstream rise. Their passion for music and hardwork has made them well renowned internationally. Worldwide, the group has sold 50 million albums and 15.3 million copies in the U.S

During a recent interview  Mark Hoppus and Tom DeLonge revealed that after DeLongeleft the band in 2015, even after finding his replacement they believed the band would never reunite. Hoppus said “I didn’t know that Blink would ever get back together or that I would ever share a stage with Tom. I told management, I told Travis, I told everybody, ‘I’m not setting foot on stage again with that dude. Not a chance.’” He appreciated DeLonge as a songwriter and his contribution to the band’s success admitting that “there was a lot of bad blood and there was a lot of stuff in the press, and feelings, and all this stuff.”DeLonge felt the same, he said, “Like Mark said, I wasn’t sure if we were going to play together again or not. I remember telling my wife, ‘I don’t think I’m ever going to play music again. I’ll keep making records and put them out… but I don’t think I’m ever going to tour again.’”

in 2021 when Hoppus was diagnosed with lymphoma, DeLonge reconnected with him and would check up on him regularly. “It was similar when Travis had his accident back in the day,” DeLonge said. “Nothing matters, really. Everything that’s just dumb, peripheral, it’s all petty when you have real human things happen. So, it feels like it’s an instant thing. I feel like there’s a real sense of brotherhood with us. And like any brothers, you have your little spats over the years, and you grow apart. You come back together. But you’ve always got a foundation that you’re connected to.” Barker however was a firm believer that the band would succeed and will get back together.  saying, “It was a no-brainer for me that, of course, we would do it again.” He continued: “It was always my first priority and my first love. Music. I always knew that the brotherhood wouldn’t ever deteriorate or wouldn’t be there. It was just a matter of finding the right time for it all to happen… One More Time is kind of written about that. It’s written about, why does it take these catastrophes like me being in a plane crash or Mark being sick for our band to get back together?” He truly believed in a possible reunion.
