Continuing her passion for numerology, During a speech onstage, Taylor Swift said she decided to announce on August 9 — the eighth month of the year and ninth day of the month. Throughout the show with new blue versions of her classic tour outfits, she also teased the announcement.

Before unveiling the album cover on the big screen Taylor said, "There's something I've been planning for a really, really, really, ridiculously, embarrassingly long time."

In A statement Taylor Swift shared online, she said, "The 1989 album changed my life in countless ways. To be perfectly honest, this is my most FAVORITE re-record I've ever done because the 5 From The Vault tracks are so insane. I can't believe they were ever left behind."

In addition to the 16 songs on the original deluxe album, the CD presale revealed on their website that “1989 (Taylor Version)” will have five more songs but these tracks have not been released before.

On each album Taylor has recorded, she added several new cuts to the album which she described as "from the vault" which means that these songs were originally written during the initial creation of the album but she has added several new cuts that she described as "from the vault," meaning they were written during the initial creation but "held back for different reasons."

In 2021 Swift explained, "Those reasons seem unnecessary now. I've decided I want you to have the whole story, "I've spoken a lot about why I'm remaking my first six albums, but the way I've chosen to do this will hopefully help illuminate where I'm coming from." Swift added, "Artists should own their work for so many reasons, but the most screamingly obvious one is that the artist is the only one who really *knows* that body of work."

Swift revealed the vault track titles

Swift teased her fans by sharing a video of a shimmering blue vault on her Instagram. The clip she shared revealed a jumble of letters: T, S, U, and L, as well as two quotation marks and an exclamation point. Swift's video of letters left fans with the task of unscrambling the letters to reveal one of the vault track titles. This is the strategy Tylor Swift used for "Fearless (Taylor's Version)" and "Red (Taylor's Version).

Swift wrote in the caption, referencing lyrics from the hit single "Blank Space,”  "You can tell me when the *search* is over… if the high was worth the pain."

According to the search engine, there were 89 different options, when fans searched for Swift on Google and additional puzzles began to appear.

Including the original song title that was teased: "Slut!"Swift officially unveiled the complete tracklist, just one day after the puzzle-hunting began. 

Taylor Swift said, "When I was, like, 23 and people were just kind of reducing me to… kind of making slideshows of my dating life and putting people in there that I'd sat next to at a party once and deciding that my songwriting was like a trick rather than a skill and a craft."

Swift continued, "In a way, it's figuring out how to completely minimize that skill by taking something that everyone in their darkest, darkest moments loves to do, which is just to slut-shame." She said further, "That happened to me at a very young age, so that was a bit hard. That was one of the first times I was like, 'Wow, this is not fair."

Long before it was announced Sift released two songs from “1989 (TAylor’s Version): in September 2021 after the original went viral on TikTok "Wildest Dreams (Taylor's Version)", "This Love (Taylor's Version)" in May 2022 as part of the soundtrack for season one of "The Summer I Turned Pretty."

"Wildest Dreams (Taylor's Version)" was co-produced by Swift and Shellback, as before, but Christopher Rowe's name replaced Martin's. Martin's. The "1989 (Taylor's Version)" will be released on 27 October.
