So Mun (Byeong-gyu Jo) was a young boy who was permanently injured due to a car accident that killed his parents. Now in high school, he lives with his grandparents and hangs out with his best friends,  Im Too-Yvon (Lee Ji Won) and Kim Woong Min (Kim Eun-Su). However strange Encounters started to happen with Mun as he started to have weird dreams, encounters with cold energy forces, and strange marks on his hands, but he is developing immense power and strength. Now evil spirits were chasing a group of noodle shop employees who had escaped their afterlife and survived by eating humans. Choo Mae-ok (Yeom Hye-ran), Do Ha Na (Se-Jeong Kim) and  Ga Mo Tak (Joon Sang-Yoo) were instructed to recruit Mun.  While the responsibility that comes with becoming a part of the Counters falls on So Mun, it gives him an immense opportunity and a golden chance to have people.

This entertaining Korean series offers a creative narrative that combines gangster-like conflict, action, fantasy, and a lot of family drama. So Mun is a likeable character who becomes everyone's favourite even before the story begins. The Counter is a group of personality-filled individuals. However, the Uncanny Counter is filled with violence and bloody scenes which make it themes like a horror movie for some moments. Some folks may find it difficult to follow up with the story from the beginning as there are so many characters and different storylines. However, once you dive into this energetic and diverting series it will definitely be worth your time.

1. Kim Sejeong As Do Ha-na

You may have seen Kim in other K-dramas such as Today's Webtoon and Business Proposal as someone who is a cheerful character.  However, this series will show you the tougher side of this actress. Do Ha-Na's character know how to pack a punch and take one as well! She has the ability to see the memories of people with a simple touch and also has the power to erase a person's memory completely.

2. Jo Byung-gyu As So Mun

If you have been watching K-drama for some time then you may have seen Joe in Who Are You: School 2015 and in Sky Castle. However, he became popular after his role in a sports drama called Hot Stove League. In this series, the role of Jo is to play the role of So Mun who is the youngest member of the crew. He has the ability to sense the danger and has super speed and telekinesis.  He can also use the vibrant and colourful Energy field around his territory which makes the counters more powerful.

3. Yeom Hye-ran As Chu Mae-ok

Yeom Hye-ran is a veteran actress who makes her big break in the K-drama world with Uncanny Counter season 1. After this, she got herself a role as the loyal character in The Glory beside Song Hye-Kyo.  In Uncanny Counters season 2, Yeom plays the role of Chu Mae-ok who is the chef and a counter with healing abilities.  She is more like a motherly figure in the group.

4. Kim Hieora As Gelly Choi

After Kim's role in The Glory, she takes on the villainous role of the character named Gelly Choi who is an evil spirit with the ability of super speed and access to the power of erasing people's memories. She eats off the souls of the Counter.

5. Kang Ki-young As Hwang Pil-gwang

This actor is well known for being a supporting actor in rom-com dramas like What Wrong with Secretary Kim, Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo, and more. He first became popular with his mentor role in Extraordinary Attorney Woo. In this series, Kang Ki-young plays the role of a chilling character of Hwang Pil-Gwang, the demon leader who feeds from a counter with telekinesis.

6. Yoo In-soo As Na Jeok-bong

This character is showing up in almost every series.  Remember, the annoying bully in All Of Us Are Dead, the loyal lover in Alchemy of Souls, and the troublemaker in the Good Bad Mother. In the second season of The Uncanny Counter, he plays the role of a naive country boy who gets recruited into the squad. While adjusting to his newfound powers you can expect a lot of comedy from him.
