Laura Vandervoort is set to enter into holy matrimony. The actress, known for her role in the television series Smallville and starring in the upcoming Hallmark Channel holiday movie Miracle in Bethlehem, PA, has announced her engagement to Adam Coates.

In an Instagram announcement on Wednesday, Vandervoort, 39, shared the news, stating, "Well... we have some news!!" She went on to express that her recent birthday celebration took on a new meaning as it became a celebration of their eternal commitment. 

The accompanying photo in her social media post captures the couple embracing each other with smiles, and sharing a sweet sunset kiss. Vandervoort proudly displays her engagement ring as she lovingly holds onto Coates' face. In a heartfelt message, Vandervoort expressed her love and gratitude towards Coates, stating, "There is no one I'd rather do life with. I love you @adamcoates4.

Additionally, she subtly indicated that the marriage proposal, witnessed by "30 friends and family," caught her completely off guard. Vandervoort expressed her amazement at how Coates managed to plan the proposal without her noticing, describing it as perfect. 

One photograph captured the moment when Coates knelt on one knee to propose, while the subsequent image documented Vandervoort joyfully leaping into his arms. Other endearing pictures depicted the couple laughing together and then sitting together to savour the moment afterwards.

The blushing bride-to-be expressed her gratitude towards her friends and family for keeping the carefully thought-out plan under wraps and creating such a beautiful homecoming. The final photo in the gallery showcased Vandervoort and Coates kissing in a spacious kitchen, surrounded by their loved ones who had gathered to toast the special occasion. 

Following the initial post, she uploaded a second Instagram carousel featuring more heartwarming moments from the day, captioned "For Keeps." The actor Benjamin Ayres, who co-stars with Vandervoort in the film Miracle in Bethlehem, PA, extended his congratulations to her in the comment section of the post. He stated, "Congratulations! At present, I am seated beside you in church on the set, discussing my felicitations towards you."

According to the Hallmark Channel's synopsis, Vandervoort portrays Mary Ann Brubeck, a woman who adopts a baby girl to raise on her own just before Christmas. Prior to disclosing her proposal announcement, Vandervoort shared a few photographs captured by Ayers on Wednesday, showcasing the Miracle in Bethlehem, PA set.

In the images, the Jigsaw actress was dressed for cooler temperatures while holding an insulated cup.
