Will Smith's supporters have drawn parallels with the checkered past of fellow actor Sean Penn as they scrutinised Smith's reaction when he slapped Chris Rock at the 2022 Academy Awards.

A 63-year-old, Sean Penn, recently revealed to the sources in an interview from where he released his severe criticism against 54-year-old Smith, walking on the stage in March 2022 at the 94th Annual Academy Awards and slapping 58-year-old Rock across his face.

The slap is followed by the joke of Rock on the wife of Smith, Jada Pinkett Smith, on his bald head regardless of the 'Set It Off' with admitting that she cleanshaven her head because of alopecia areata. After the slap of Smith, he went on to seize the 'Best Actor Award' for his character, played as 'Richard Williams' in a 2021 biographical movie, 'King Richard'.

Will Smith, the actor of 'Bad Boys', got a standing ovation from the viewers throughout his emotional acceptance speech. However, Penn does not appear to think that it was deserved. He mentioned, 'So why did you subject yourself and everyone else to this senseless situation? Why did I end up in trouble for what you just did?

Penn was sentenced to country jail for 60 days for spitting and punching an extra during the filming of Colors. Ultimately, he served 33 days of his two-month sentence. Penn said, Are you still sitting there? Why are you guys applauding and standing at his nastiest moment as a person?

His hard words were posted on Hollywood Unlocked's social media platform, Instagram, where various commenters reminded Penn of his track record of abuse. Penn said, Sir, you SPIT AND PUNCHED on someone. He responded with a slap and walked away. You showed violent behaviour towards an extra. Please have a seat, considering your criminal record.

Doesn't he have a lengthy criminal record? I am confused.
It's because you have a reputation for trouble, Sean, and you're ageing. He might have forgotten that he beat Madona using a BAT and came back by whooping her again'.

The Golden Globe actor Sean Penn had a festive relationship with the 'Material Girl' songstress, Madonna, who returned in the late 80s. Throughout their four years of wedding, accusations on Penn for abusing Madonna have created waves, though Madonna criticised the claims in 2015.

Madonna reportedly supported her ex-husband's character, stating, Although we did have several intense arguments during our marriage, Sean never physically harmed me, 'tied me up' or engaged in any form of physical assault. Any allegations suggesting otherwise are entirely baseless, malicious, reckless, and untrue.

However, the Like a Prayer singer denied ever being hit by Penn. However, the film director was arrested in 1988 and charged with battery for allegedly harming Madonna. Follow Dailypopmix.com for more interesting stories worldwide.
