Chris Kirkpatrick founded the American boy band NSYNC in Orlando, Florida 1995, and BMG Ariola Munich introduced them to Germany. On Tuesday, September 12, when accepting an award at the 2023 MTV Video Music Awards, the NSYNC quartet came together for the first time in ten years.

Video released on Instagram

The well-known boy band teased the major release with a flashback to a famous shot on Instagram after announcing they had reformed for their first song in more than 20 years. In the video, you can watch Justin Timberlake, Chris Kirkpatrick, Joey Fatone, Lance Bass, and JC Chasez chat in a studio as Simple Plan's I'm Just a Kid plays in the background.

The gang abruptly took a posture from an old photograph as it flashed on the screen, even though their stylish outfits suggested they had attained adulthood. Except for JC, who smirked, everyone in the band put a hand or finger to their lips. They used to wear T-shirts and denim jackets as their uniform.

The 2023 VMAs are the ideal venue for the group to perform together again because that was their last time doing so at the VMAs in 2013. At the event in 2018, the boy band reunited to celebrate receiving a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

Following the discovery of the band's emblem on the posters for the upcoming animated film Trolls Band Together, rumors about their attendance at the occasion started circulating. In addition to their public appearance, NSYNC may have been working on new songs for the upcoming movie Branch, in which Timberlake plays the lead role.

In the caption of the September 19 photo, they joked, Who had us pose like that?! The three sparked a frenzy among fans with their recent announcement that their reunion song Better Place will be released on September 29 as part of the Trolls Band Together soundtrack.

Please stop making fun of us; we're becoming old, and our hearts can't take it.

  • One fan remarked, (Back to re-learning choreo....)
  • Another said, This is healing my inner child.
  • Did I watch this five times to see every one of you? said a third follower.
  • Yes. I did, indeed. I am unable to handle this stuff in any way. I require an inhaler. Sync for life, little one, a fourth said.

Some people nearly begged for a tour of the past. One fan wrote: If you aren't going on tour then this is all cruel, while another wrote: Please go on tour while I still have movable joints, please!!! Both fans sent messages with laughing emojis.

There may or may not be a formal reunion, but Joey has already discussed what it would entail. In March, he said, I think it's more of a celebration if we ever did something like that. It's more of a gathering. I am aware that some individuals wish to organize a reunion. However, we would prefer to write new tunes. Why would we want to encourage... I understand everyone enjoys it, but younger generations must familiarise themselves with who we are.
