The movie ‘Gangster Squad” is directed by the Zombieland director Ruben Fleischer, released in 2013 and it is an intense action movie. The duo Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling starred alongside big names like Josh Brolin and Sean Penn. The movie Gangster Squad is based on an actual group of LAPD officers and detectives who refer to themselves as the Gangster Squad. Thanos and Cable actor Josh Brolin cracked down on Sean Penn's Mickey Cohen, a kingpin in 1949.  The charming Ryan Gosling playing the role of Sgt. Jerry Wooters and the beautiful Emma Stone play an aspiring Hollywood star named Grace Faraday. The duo has powerful chemistry on the screen. Penn spends most of the movie trying to push through his excessive makeup with a genuinely intriguing, hard-boiled performance. While Fleischer himself wants to craft an old-fashioned gangster flick or spend two hours spoofing the genre, he can’t make up his mind. In the middle of the movie, Fleischer suddenly gives up and throws his hands up, devolving the proceedings into an uber-violent sub-par action movie.
