At the age of 14, in 1994 Bündchen caught the attention of a modeling agent from Elite Model Management, one of the world's modeling agencies while she was at a shopping mall. That year she participated in the Look of the Year modeling contest organized by the agency ( renamed Elite Model Look) where she secured second place nationally and fourth place globally. Subsequently, Bündchen relocated to New York City to kickstart her modeling career. After she made her debut on the runway at New York Fashion Week, considered one of the industry's events held twice a year.

Beginning Of Her Career

In 1997 Bündchen graced the cover of Vogue Brazil (October) garnering recognition within the fashion industry. Despite having a body that contrasted with the prevailing trend for waifish figures at that time Bündchen continued to feature on the covers of leading fashion publications. She also graced the cover of American Vogue in 1999 (July) heralding what was dubbed as "the Return of the Sexy Model " signifying an end to the controversial look known as "heroin chic" characterized by a skinny physique accompanied by pale skin, dark, under eye circles and often disheveled hair and clothing. That year she received the title of Model of the Year title jointly awarded by Vogue and VH1 American cable television network.

In 2009 Bündchen tied the knot, with Tom Brady, a football player. During that year she was honored with the role of Goodwill Ambassador, for the United Nations Environment Programme. Bündchens presence graced the New York Metropolitan Museum of Art exhibition well. Before I begin please note that the expectations of a paradise filled with figures and famous athletes at the residence of supermodel Gisele Bündchen and New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady would be sorely disappointed. Similarly, those envisioning a palace, with an army of dressed servants serving protein shakes on silver trays have also missed the mark. The reality of Bündchen and Brady's life in the Los Angeles Brentwood neighborhood is much simpler.

"I appreciate simplicity and comfort," says the renowned Brazilian beauty.

Brady agrees with this sentiment; "Gisele and I have a total of eight sisters not to mention all the kids. We designed this house as a haven for our family—a place where we can genuinely enjoy each other's company."

Their story in Los Angeles began six years ago when Bündchen and Brady started frequenting Southern California's shores during their NFL off-season. During one of their trips before their marriage in 2009, they stumbled upon a plot of land offering views of the Pacific Ocean, near their rented home. They instantly knew that someday this parcel would become their home. "We felt the need to establish a foundation, for our family so we made a decision to begin anew " Brady remembers. (They have a three-year son named Benjamin and a baby daughter named Vivian Lake in addition to Brady’s six-year son John from his previous relationship, with actress Bridget Moynahan).

Gisele Bündchen and Tom Brady prioritize living responsibly. Also living responsibly. Bündchen actively supports the United Nations Environment Programme. Both of them are deeply committed, to conserving resources. When they built their home one of their goals was to incorporate many recycled materials as possible and implement energy and water systems that would minimize their impact on the environment. They went beyond practices by composting, using gray water technology for irrigation, and opting for environmentally friendly construction materials. Moreover they installed two sets of solar panels—one near the garden and another on the house roof—to generate all the electricity needed for their property. Bündchen explains that throughout the design and construction process, they consistently asked everyone involved how they could make it as sustainable as possible.
