43 year old Gisele Caroline Bündchen is a brazilian model and also one of the highest paying models in the world since 2001. In 2007, she was titled as one of the richest women in the biggest hollywood entertainment industry taking number 16 spot. Forbes listed her name on top in 2012, on their Top Earning Models list. After two years she was named as one of the most powerful women in the world at the eighty-ninth spot on the Forbes list.

Successful Modelling Career:

Apart from that, Bündchen has received various awards honouring her modelling career that she established with her hardwork and determination. Her career kept flourishing especially when Vogue magazine gave her credit for ending the heroin chic era in the modelling industry which promoted traits associated with heroin and drug abuse. Its impact however, was very harmful for the young audience and was majorly criticised by the public later on. She was Victoria Secret’s Angel from 1999 until 2006. Bündchen style is often credited with her excellent modelling skills including the horse walk and kicking her feet to step. In 2007, Claudia Schiffer, one of the most successful and reputable models in the industry, called Bündchen the only remaining supermodel. This was an extremely proud moment for Gisele, when her own idol called her the one of her kind. Since the beginning of her career she has appeared in more than one thousand magazine covers such as Vogue.

After visiting an Amerindian tribe in Brazil back in 2004, Bündchen saw what kind of difficulties the communities living in rural and tribal areas have to constantly face. One of the very few included clean water facilities. She realised that she can use her fame and voice to advocate about climate change and dedicated herself to environmental work over the years. She has been vocal about deforestation, land and water pollution and climate change. Bündchen returned to her hometown with her family and launched her clean water supply project which promoted recycling of water and environment sustainability and also allowed recovery of riparian vegetation. More than one billion trees were planted in her name after she was on the American cover promoting Forests Of The Future, an organisation that assists in replantation of the Atlantic forest in Brazil.
