It has been reported that Kate Middleton is purportedly making arrangements to don a tiara for an upcoming event. This information surfaced after Buckingham Palace's declaration on Tuesday, revealing that King Charles and Queen Camilla would be entertaining South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol during a state visit scheduled for November.

Although specific details regarding the visit have not been disclosed, a state banquet will likely be included in the itinerary, which could potentially involve the wearing of tiaras.

Proceedings With A Formal And Ceremonial Welcome

The statement confirmed that the State Visit will be held at Buckingham Palace, and past precedent suggests that it will commence with a ceremonial welcome at the Horse Guards Parade, followed by a carriage procession with a military escort, culminating in a grand dinner.

Typically, on the evening of the day of arrival, the visitors are graciously hosted at a State Banquet, an esteemed and formal affair held in the Ballroom of Buckingham Palace. According to the royal family's official website, approximately 150 guests are invited based on their cultural, diplomatic, or economic ties to the country being honoured.

They Embellished Themselves With Exquisite Jewellery

Traditionally, these grand events adhere to a white-tie dress code, with the female members of the royal family donning tiaras. During the first state visit of King Charles' reign in November 2022, which welcomed South African President Cyril Ramaphosa to the United Kingdom, Princess Kate and Queen Camilla adorned themselves with exquisite jewels for the state banquet.

Princess Kate, aged 41, radiantly wore the Queen Mary's Lover's Knot tiara. At the same time, Queen Camilla elegantly displayed the Belgian Sapphire Tiara, a precious heirloom previously owned by her late mother-in-law, Queen Elizabeth.

The Non-occurrence Of Official State Visits

The occasion also marked the first time in three years that Kate and Camilla publicly wore tiaras due to the COVID pandemic and the absence of state visits by the British royal family since the visit of then-U.S. President Donald Trump to the U.K. in 2019.

A reliable source from the royal family confirmed that Ramaphosa's three-day visit had been scheduled before the peaceful passing of Queen Elizabeth on September 8. In December 2022, the Princess of Wales and Queen Camilla again adorned themselves with tiaras for the Diplomatic Corps reception at Buckingham Palace.

Kate adorned herself with the Lotus Flower Tiara, whereas Camilla chose to don the Belgian Sapphire Tiara, which she had previously worn on a separate occasion. Even though Queen Camilla was officially crowned on May 6 during the coronation ceremony, Princess Kate departed from customary practice by electing not to wear a tiara.

Instead, she wore a silver and crystal floral headpiece designed by Jess Collett in collaboration with Alexander McQueen. It is worth noting that her daughter, Princess Charlotte, aged 8, also wore a matching mini version of the headpiece, creating a memorable mother-daughter ensemble.

Assistance In Facilitating The Hosting Of The Visit

Most recently, Princess Kate donned a tiara for the banquet that followed the royal wedding of Crown Prince Hussein and Princess Rajwa of Jordan in June. Kate then changed into her second outfit of the day, a dazzling pink gown designed by Jenny Packham. She paired this gown with Queen Mary's Lover's Knot tiara, wearing her hair down, and adorned herself with the Greville Chandelier earrings.

This glamorous moment also marked a significant milestone for Kate, as it was the first time she wore a tiara outside of the United Kingdom. When Yoon and his wife, First Lady Kim Keon Hee, embark on their state visit in November, Princess Kate and Prince William will likely assist in hosting the visit.

The couple has assumed elevated royal roles as the Prince and Princess of Wales following Queen Elizabeth's passing and King Charles's accession in September last year. They were the ones who welcomed Ramaphosa to the United Kingdom for a state visit last year.

The news of Yoon's upcoming trip comes after King Charles, aged 74, and Queen Camilla, aged 76, travelled to France for an official state visit last week. During this visit, they toured Paris and Bordeaux, a trip rescheduled from March due to pension-related riots nationwide. The visit, spanning three days from September 20 to September 22, encompassed a splendid state banquet held at the esteemed Palace of Versailles.

The Event Was Kindly Hosted

The King and Queen were graciously hosted by French President Emmanuel Macron and his wife, Brigitte, at the renowned historical site of Versailles, situated on the periphery of Paris, during the initial evening of their vacation. For the event above, Queen Camilla opted not to wear a tiara, instead radiating elegance adorned with the necklace and bracelet from the King George VI Victorian Suite.
