For the past four years, Lauren Sanchez has been quietly working behind the scenes to support Jeff Bezos, the creator of Amazon and the person she is now engaged to, while he deliberately donates his enormous money to several charities.
Sánchez discussed her charity endeavors, space exploration, and what makes her partnership with Bezos work in their first in-person interview, which they conducted in November of last year from their Washington, D.C., home.

Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez are enjoying some quality time together. Sánchez posted a cute picture of the pair strolling on Instagram on Wednesday. Nothing is better than seeing him for lunch in between his meetings, she said in the caption of a photo of the two hugging.
The star of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, Kyle Richards, described the image as "cute." Kris Jenner included a string of heart-eye emojis in her message to show her joy for their relationship.

Lauren Sanchez and Jeff Bezos's relationship
The former president and CEO of Amazon and the Emmy-winning journalist announced their romance in January 2019 and got engaged in late May. On his $500 million yacht, the couple hosted an engagement celebration in August off the Amalfi Coast of Italy.
A source said shortly after Bezos, 59, requested Sánchez, 53, for her hand in marriage that the wealthy couple "are really in love and happy, which makes everyone who knows them happy." "Everyone who knows her claims that this is the realization of her dream. They decided the moment was perfect since she found the man she wanted to spend the rest of her life with, the source continued.

The duo alone time
Photos of Bezos and Sánchez on a romantic helicopter trip in Santa Monica, California, in October 2018 surfaced in January 2019. The two also routinely give to causes that are dear to them.
He and Sánchez visited Colombia's Chiribiquete National Park in 2022, during which they made a $10 billion donation to the Bezos Earth Fund to aid in the fight against deforestation. After wildfires wreaked havoc on the Hawaiian island of Maui during the summer, they committed $100 million to help the town "get back on its feet".
Sánchez commented on Instagram, "Jeff and I are heartbroken by what's happening in Maui," which Bezos shared on August 11.
The longer-term reconstruction that will need to take place even after most of the focus has passed is just as critical as the urgent requirements, she wrote. "Jeff and I are launching the Maui Fund and pledging $100 million to help Maui rebuild both now and in the years to come as new needs arise."
